Our Lady of Guadalupe School of Religion provides Catechetical classes for students in first through high school who are not attending Catholic schools. Dates and days for classes for students will be announced in the bulletin. Two years of faith formation classes are required to be eligible to receive the gift of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and Sacrament of First Communion.
Confirmation through School of Religion is a two-year program. Youth seventh grade through high school, who are faithful in attending weekly classes and after completing the two-year course of studies, are eligible to be candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation in the spring of their second year.
Volunteers to assist with the program as catechists, catechist aides, or other support personnel are always needed.
“Let the little children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these,” ~Matthew 9:14.
All children are a gift from God, and are welcome in School of Religion. To ensure the success and faith formation of your child, please notify the Director of any physical, emotional or learning needs your child may have. Parents are welcome to attend class with their child and guide them in their faith formation. Parents of students with special needs who choose to homeschool should contact the School of Religion Director for program information.
